The origin of EYRA

EYRA (pronounced ERA) is a modern interpretation of Eira, an Old Celtic word meaning snow.

Snow symbolises purity, renewal, and quiet strength - the inspiration behind EYRA’s approach to hair and scalp care.

The spelling was intentionally evolved to create a contemporary, globally accessible name while honouring its Celtic roots.

Rooted in botanical ingredients and elevated by modern formulation science, EYRA creates haircare that restores balance to hair and scalp, uniting performance, purity, and sensorial experience in every ritual.

Aidan Darcy is an internationally recognised hairstylist, working across editorial, celebrity and luxury bridal styling.

EYRA was born from his desire to create haircare that reflects the same level of care, intention, and craftsmanship found in his work.

With over 15 years of hands-on experience, he developed EYRA to challenge one-size-fits-all haircare - creating precise, performance-driven formulas tailored to the real needs of hair.

EYRA was born from a personal ritual - the quiet act of caring for hair as a form of grounding and renewal.

After years of working closely with clients around the world, across editorial, bridal, and beyond. I wanted to create something that reflected that same intention - haircare that is considered, effective, and designed to be experienced. EYRA is a balance of nature and formulation, performance and experience - created not to follow trends, but to bring meaning and intention back to everyday haircare.
